What is(are) your name(s)?
For how long have you been running a B&B?
I opened B&B Fabrizia about 6 years ago
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
The history of B&B Fabrizia: The need to have an updated working baggage brought me to attend a training course work. Among the many course I was attracted to a course on entrepreneurship ... female manager of a bed and breakfast. I immediately seized the opportunity that was presented to me. I love to travel, know new places, new countries and their cultures. So I found myself to attend this course of about six months, for six hours a day with a group of girls and ladies of my age even entice them to upgrade culturally ... and, yes, the subjects ranged from the knowledge of their territory, to know how to prepare a good breakfast, hours of English language and computer literacy. After the course it was about time to test and practice the concepts taught. Thus began the first search of a house where I could open my B&B.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
My philosophy of life is a Taoist one and I practice it daily. Originated in Japan, this philosophy was endorsed also by China. It follows the Taoist nature and its cycles: the cardinal points, seasons, colors, elements (water, wood, fire, metal and earth). This philosophy may also be implemented in purely practical matter such as arranging the house and its furniture and this branch of it is called Feng Shui. While renovating my house I have put in place what has been learned from this philosophy as it was and where possible. Colors are the first thing that impress guests of Fabrizia B&B and even provoke curiosity - why are these colors chosen and is there a pattern? This because the interior is designed to follow the rules of Feng Shui for interior design. Therefore in all rooms the walls to the north have a tone darker than the other, according to the cardinal points, and the heads of the beds are also pointing North in order to improve the sleep and rest of guests. Even in the garden, I tried to grow and arrange the best plants and flowers: I created a piece of a Zen garden with a small fountain (symbol of life) to the north of my home. Consequently, the guests of my B&B like the different environment, which at first sight may seem extravagant, but after a short explanation everyone remains amazed and interested. Buying and offering organic food is also part of all those principles.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
B&B Fabrizia is an ideal base for exploring the Veneto region: starting from Padua with the Euganean Hills, along the Riviera del Brenta, you can reach Venice and its lagoon. In about an hour from there are Vicenza and the Palladian Villas, Verona with the story of Romeo and Juliet and the Arena, followed by Lake Garda.
