Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
I like to meet people out of Belgium and the rest of the world and so I started with my B&B.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Our two nice rooms, with sitting corner and free internet located in a green area. You’ll get a good night sleep in one of our luxury beds with swisflex matresses.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
Being a guest at B&B Goudsbloempje is enjoying and "no worries" break in a quiet surrounding. This tastefully decorated villa is the ideal base for great cycling or hiking holidays.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
Among the services we offer free shuttle service to Lierde railway station. 21-gear bikes can be rented and can be organised for you. We provide a repair set and you can clean your bikes or dry your clothes. All tourist information leaflets, maps of the area. (including marked cycling circuits, or M- and P-routes). From our B&B you can take off on beautiful tours, just follow the marked footpaths or cycling circuits. It’s really one of the most welcoming areas for cyclists and hikers. We will be glad to do all the bookings for visits to a local brewery (De Graal), a cheesefarm, a sauna. If you want to spent the day out we can provide a take-away lunch. We can also recommend good restaurants and book your table.

What kinds of rooms do you offer?
After a day out, you can spend a relaxing evening in front of the open fire, enjoy a good film or book from our own library or gather around a boardgame or a deck of cards.
For the music lovers our piano is waiting.
You can use the TV, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing facilities. There’s also free parking space for cars and bikes.
What do the room rates include?
The room price includes breakfast, parking, internet, tax, insurance. On bright mornings you can enjoy full breakfast on the sun patio, overlooking the small Carthusian church and the beautiful garden.

Enjoy the quiet and silence of the countryside. Let your eyes wander over the beautiful views that you will discover in the Flemish Ardennes. Follow one of the cycling circuits, and learn about their link with local history: the Teirlinckroute, Egmontroute, Paterroute or go for a real challenge and take the M-route who will lead you to the Muur, the steep climb to the top of the Oudenberg, where you will discover breathtaking views over the area. And these are not the only routes! If you prefer hiking you will also find a network of footpaths and circuits, there’s even a Goudsbloem walk. Indulge yourselves and taste the local products: the cake ‘mattentaart’, local beers and cheeses. Visit the ancient market town of Geraardsbergen (Grammont in English) with its market square, churches and museums, the original ‘Manneken Pis’ (the Brussels copy is much younger!), or simply go shopping in the highstreet. Finally you can spend the day at the ‘Gavers’ lakeside resort with sandy beaches, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, facilities for watersports and fishing, adventure village for the children, and the Gaver ferry or trips on the river Dender. Sports accommodations: tennis, ballgames, skelter, trampolines, wall climbing, skaterramp, inline skating, miniature golf. Other interesting places are the nearby towns Ronse and Oudenaarde. Ronse is the town where you can admire old artdeco houses. You can take a free Ipod-tour around the town. Oudenaarde is the historic town, once the residence of Margret of Parma, under the Austrian rule of our region. The town is famous for its rich collection of silver and medieval tapestry. You also find the museum of the “Ronde van Vlaanderen”, the world famous spring cycling race!
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
Lierde is situated in the Flemish Ardennes. Pleasant market towns like Zottegem, Ronse, Grammont (Geraardsbergen) and Ninove are all only 10 kms (7.5 miles) away. Historic tows like Oudenaarde, Ghent and Aalst are about a 30 minutes’ drive. Even the city of Brussels is within reach for a daytrip! If you prefer to use public transport you can easily travel by train from Lierde or Grammont station.
Is there something more that you want to share about your property?
Romantic arrangement for two days. Come with two persons for a weekend and enjoy the romantic room. We can give you a welcome drink. There are two bikes for you to enjoy the area. We serve a good bottle of wine on your room and rose leaves with candles to enjoy the evening.
