Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
We ran a pub near Milan for 12 years and after having lived in Jamaica for 2 months we decided to sell the pub and to move to Port Antonio to open a guesthouse there. It was a brave and adventurous choice that we could have done if we had not had two dogs, five cats and a guinea pig! In fact the Jamaican government didn't allow us to take our animals with us. So we had to find another island or somewhere that was a better place to live than Milan, somewhere to start our guesthouse. We chose Sardinia, bought this house and restored it. Now we are happy to meet new people coming from all over the world, it was our dream!
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Our b&b is surrounded by a beautiful garden, a place to discover with many corners emphasized by using a variety of plants and flowers, from cactus to aromatic plants. It is the perfect place to relax with the sound of nature.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
Our guests love the special care we have for details and the rich breakfast we serve in the garden.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
Our b&b reflects our philosophy of life. It is in a very quiet and tranquil place, surrounded by nature and with a wonderful view over the sea. It is in ethnic style with many things we bought in our travels. Full of colour: the walls, the paintings, the linen and the curtains. Each room has its private garden accessible directly from the room and the privacy is guaranteed. A lounge with TV, a fridge with cold drinks, tea and coffee making facilities, fireplace and a nice terrace are also at disposal of the guests. Further the b&b is on a separate floor from our living space.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
Two en-suite double rooms.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
The b&b has two en-suite double rooms with air-conditioning/heating, free wi-fi internet access, hair-dryer, linen and a private garden accessible directly from the room. It comes with a table, chairs, sun umbrella and chaise-lounges for the sun. The Hibiscus room is east-facing and from the garden you can enjoy the sunrise on Genn'e Mari beach, whereas the Iris room is west-facing on Cagliari Gulf.
What do the room rates include?
The room price includes breakfast, internet wi-fi access, air-conditioning/heating, cleaning, parking.
Do you offer any special packages?
For a minimum stay of 1 week we apply a discount of 10,00 euro per night, except from August. During low season we usually make special offers.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Breakfast includes fresh fruit salade, fresh orange juice (in season) or fruit juice, croissants, biscuits, toasted bread with butter and organic jam and honey, yoghurt, muesli, typical sweets, ham and cheese. Coffee or tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino or milk.
When and where is breakfast served?
The breakfast is normally served from 8,30 to 10,00 but also earlier if the guests ask but not later. During the cold months we serve it in the lounge and during warm months on the patio in the garden.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
We can serve breakfast for people with other dietary requirements on prior request.
Do you serve other meals?
The guests can ask for a taste of typical cured meat, cheese, white and red wine on payment.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
In the lounge there are tea and coffee facilities and a fridge in common with the other guests. The use of the kitchen is not allowed.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
Our b&b is not suitable for children.
Do you accept pets?
Pets are not allowed.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is allowed only in the garden or in the terrace.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
There is a parking area in the garden.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
The b&b is not suitable for disabled guests because there are stairs to reach the rooms and the garden.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
Check-in is normally from 13.00 to 18.00, the guests have to advise us if they're coming at a different time. If they arrive before 13.00 they can stay in the common area or in the garden while we prepare the rooms. If we have no other guests they can arrive earlier than 13.00. Check-out within 11.00 am
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
The minimum stay is 2 days in low season, 3 days in July and 1 week in August.
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
The reservation can be done by e-mail. To confirm the reservation we ask 30% account by bank tranfer.
What is you cancellation policy?
The reservation can be cancelled within 30 days before arrival with no charge. If the cancellation is made later we will keep the account.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept only cash payment.
Please tell us what things guests might enjoy visiting, seeing, doing, etc. in your area.
Our area is known especially for the white sandy beaches but within 50 kms there are 2 natural parks and other natural places such as lagoons with many species of birds, e.g. flamingos. Cagliari is 30 kms far and it's a nice town to visit
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
From Cagliari just take the coastal road to Villasimius, after about 30 kms you'll find on the right the entrance of Torre delle Stelle. Here follow our signals. If you're coming from Villasimius you'll find the entrance on the left after 15 kms.
