What is(are) your name(s)?
For how long have you been running a B&B?
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
Residenza Giulia started operating as a B&B in 2001. We have been owning this lovely place since 2003 and we have made many changes to improve the quality of our services. All our rooms have sat tv and free internet wi-fi since 2007. We stay open for 12 months a year and we receive people from all over the world. We don't live in the B&B but our reception is open the whole day. I work with my mother, Anna, and we try to be professional and friendly at the same time.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
I strongly believe that no other B&B in Florence has our wonderful balconies. The view on Florence hills sides is extraordinary. The size of our rooms is also very important. A standard double room is larger than usual and we also have 3 very spacious deluxe rooms.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The warm welcome we try to give to all our guests, the quality of our rooms and our balconies our location close to the city centre but also reachable by car and close to the airport and to the train station.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
Residenza Giulia B&B is located in the heart of Florence, half a mile from the central train station and 10 minutes walking form the historic city centre. Our guests can walk to reach all the main attractions of the city centre, as well as the big Cascine Park. The B&B is situated at the top floor of a modern building with a new elevator. There is a garage just under the building where all the guests can park their cars for an extra fee. Our six rooms have en-suite bathroom, balcony with view, minibar, sat tv, air conditioning, free wi-fi. We can provide tourist maps and guides and we also book tours and tickets for museums. The B&B is very quiet, ideal to rest in the morning and to enjoy a good breakfast at the balcony of the room.

Florence is one of the most beautiful city in the world. it is probably the world capital of modern arts: the renaissance was born here in 1400 and we have so many attractions that it would be almost impossible to describe them all here. Anyway we have to mention our main museums: the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia. the first one is the biggest museum in Europe after the Louvres in Paris and it offers the chance to see many paintings: some of them are really famous like The Botticelli's Venere and the Primavera. The Accademia is full of Michelangelo's sculptures like the famous David. But walking across our ancient and narrow streets is also nice. The Brunelleschi's Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Palazzo Vecchio, Pitti Palace and our marvelous hills of Fiesole, Piazzale Michelangelo, Forte Belvedere are just few of the things you can enjoy here.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
Residenza Giulia is just 700 meters from the central train station of Santa Maria Novella, in the Porta al Prato area, full of restaurants and shops and just 10 minutes walking from the historical city centre these are our directions from the station, where most of our guests come from: From the Train Station: 1 - Take the right exit and you will be in VIA ALAMANNI; 2 - Take this street and after 50 meters turn of the left at the first intersection, into VIA ORTI ORICELLARI; 3 - Turn on the right at the first intersection into VIA DELLA SCALA; 4- Follow Via della scala until the end (around 600 meters) and continue to go straight. The name of the street will change after a big intersection into VIA DELLE PORTE NUOVE where you will find us at number 19 after less than 50 meters.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
A B&B has the same comforts and facilities of a 3 stars hotel but we can add the familiar atmosphere and the warm welcoming. Our guests will feel at home and at the same time have the possibility to stay in complete privacy without sharing anything with other guests.
