For how long have you been running a B&B?
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
I came to Huelgoat with a friend in 2005 and saw this house, which was in need of renovation, it was then I had the idea to open a B&B and live in Brittany, France. It took 2 years to completely renovate the house and register it. It is next to an ancient Forest and a beautiful Lake, only 1 hour's drive from Roscoff Ferry and 1 hour's drive from Brest airport. The nearest large towns are Carhaix, which is a 20 min drive away, and Morlaix, which is 40 min drive away. The Enchanted Forest has an area of 600 hectares including the lands from Huelgoat to Rennes.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
The B&B is on the edge of Huelgoat. It is a very quiet place with all amenities without the noise. All shops, bars, the bank and the post office are at 2 minutes walking distance from my B&B. I have an outside tea and coffee area for snacks etc. I also have a private car park because there is very limited parking spaces in town. All my rooms are en-suite and are supplied with soap, towels, shampoo etc. Anything you might need, i.e. hairdryer and other things, can be supplied as I live on the premises.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The outside tea area is great just to sit in the afternoon sun with a cold beer or wine or lie on a lounger and read a paper or a book, after a long walk in the forest or after a stroll around the lake, which takes an hour. Drinks are available all day/evening. I am always available (with a smile).
