We have been running this property since April 2006.
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
The Zaccagnini family has always been the only proprietor of this apartment. It was bought by my grandfather in 1930, just one year after the building was constructed. The name of "La Bella Giuliana" comes from a memory.
My grandfather speaking about the apartment was so proud of it that she used to talk about it being "..... our bella Giuliana....."
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
La Bella Giuliana Bed & Breakfast has becomes one of the best receptive accommodations in the very heart of Rome for the quality of service and the high standard of comforts offered to its guests. The apartment, completely renewed, is part of an early XX century building characterized by its typical Umbertino style, lately restored too. The cordiality is one of the key features of La Bella Giuliana B&B. The guests are welcomed and helped with all sorts of information in order to make their stay in the city easier.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
Kindness, courtesy, order, cleanliness, pleasant atmosphere, breakfast service in the morning, support for everything. We work a lot with people who come back to our B&B every time they come back to Rome, or with people who visit us because other guests who have stayed with us have recommended La Bella Giuliana.That means something......
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
La Bella Giuliana is located in an apartment on the fourth floor of restored Umbertino style building, served by an elevator. Our B&B is licensed by APT (Azienda di Promozione Turistica del Comune di Roma).
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
We have two triple rooms and one double room.The double room has the possibility to be connected with a second double room, becoming in this way communicating. This is a good solution for a family of four person.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
Each room is dedicated to an artist; the Room Van Gogh is the double one, the Room Monet and the Room Gauguen are the triple ones.
Please describe the in-room facilities for each type of room in your B&B.
Every room is equipped with air conditioner, digital television, fridge and en-suite bathroom equipped with shower-bath, hairdryer and courtesy kit. The furniture is completely new. Baby cot on request.
Which room is your personal favorite?
Monet's Room, because he is one of my favorite impressionist artists.
What do the room rates include?
Breakfast with room service, daily cleanings, change of bath/room linen each three days, taxes.
Do you offer any special packages?
No we don't. We offer a 10% discount on a 7 nights stay.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
No additional payment. They can choose whatever they want between coffee, tea, cappuccino, white coffee, hot/cold milk, hot chocolate orange juice, croissant biscuits, rusks, marmalade, butter, nutella cream plum cakes.
When and where is breakfast served?
We give to our guests a menu, from which they can chose whatever they want, and the possibility to choose a time between 8.00 and 9.30 for the room service. In case of an early departure we leave a cold breakfast in the room. For drinking we serve orange juice or cold milk.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
Usually we don't, but if requested we will do our best in order to please our guest.
Do you serve other meals?
No, we don't.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
No there aren't, but in case of need, for example if someone needs to warm up something for a little baby, we leave the kitchen available.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?

Usually we don't, but if it is a small one and well educated why not?
What is your smoking policy?
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
Yes, at 70 meters from our B&B there is a guarded garage.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
No I'm sorry but it isn't.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
The rule requires only fire-extinguisher and we have them.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
Check-in time after 12.00 pm. Check-out time before 10.00 am.
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
A minimum of two nights during all the year. A minimum of four nights during the special periods: Christmas time (21 December- 6 January), Easter week.
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
They can send an email request. We give information about availability and if they confirm we send the confirmation with a prepayment request for the 30% of the total amount.
What is you cancellation policy?
Up to the 15th day before arrival - no fee; from the 14th day up to the day of the arrival - 30%; no-show - we charge the total amount.
What types of payment do you accept?
For the prepayment: bank transfer or a guarantee with a credit card (MasterCard or Visa). On the arrival day - just with cash or with a credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?
Please tell us what things guests might enjoy visiting, seeing, doing, etc. in your area.
The building is situated in the elegant frame of Prati quarter, between the Vatican and the Court of Justice. The Basilica of San Peter and the Vatican Museum can be reached simply taking a promenade of 10/15 minutes. Furthermore public transports facilities, give the possibility to reach the historic center of Rome, so in a few minutes you will be able to get to the Spanish Steps, Foro Romano, Navona Square, Colosseum. In the same way there are facilities to reach Trastevere where you can find pubs, wine bars, typical restaurants. Furthermore we are close to the great poles of attraction like Olimpic Stadium, Auditorium and RAI.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
We are in the centre of Rome just a few steps from the Vatican. COMING FROM FIUMICINO AIRPORT LEONARDO DA VINCI: If you come to Rome by plane and you land in Fiumicino Airport we suggest you to take the Leonardo Express to Rome's Central Station "Termini". There is a train every 30 minutes from 6.37 a.m. to 11.37 p.m., and the route time is about 35 minutes.From Termini Central Station you have two possibilities in order to reach our B&B: Subway: Line A - direction Battistini - Stop: "Ottaviano-San Pietro" (you are in Via Giulio Cesare). From there you take Via della Giuliana. 10 minutes walking you reach our B&B at the n.66. Otherwise from Termini you can get the bus n.70 that brings you directly to our B&B; along the left side of Termini Station runs a street called Via G. Giolitti, there you find the terminus of the bus n.70. You can get off in Via della Giuliana at the last stop but one before the terminus Piazzale Clodio. We are at the n.66. COMING FROM CIAMPINO AIRPORT: From Ciampino airport you can take the Cotral Bus line to Rome Anagnina subway station. The first ride is at 6.00 a.m. and the last one is at 10.40 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday the first ride is at 7.20 a.m.; there is a ride every 40 minutes. The rute time is about 15 minutes and the ticket is euro 1,00, you can get it directly on the bus. When you are in Anagnina (line A terminus) you take the metro and you get off at the stop: Ottaviano-San Pietro (you are in Via Giulio Cesare). From there you take Via della Giuliana. After 10 minutes walking you reach our B&B at the n. 66.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
Normally a good B&B offers a hotel service in a familiar atmosphere.
