Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
Marjorie II has been built in 1998. This is a luxury barge for cruising the inland waterways of Europe. After growing up on cargo barges with our parents, Damienne, my wife, and I, we decided to cruise with passengers. This was in 1990. We designed the Marjorie II in 1998 and maintain her in top condition all the time. Now, after so many successful years we decided to include bed & breakfast.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Marjorie II is unique for being a floating bed and breakfast, designed to do luxury cruising. We do have enough experience to give our passengers a lifetime experience.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The b&b concept is new to us. Our guest book is available on our website.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
Outside on the sundeck there is a large Jacuzzi. On the upper deck is the dining area and lounge with views.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
There is a possibility to place one additional bed in every room.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
There are 6 spacious double ship-style rooms. Each has a double bed or 2 single beds, your choice, en-suite bathrooms have a massage shower, double sink, toilet, hairdryer and accessories. Extra soft towels and bathrobes are provided as well.

The whole boat is air-conditioned, heated, with TV in every room.
Which room is your personal favorite?
All rooms are similar. Room 1 & 2 have fewer steps to be reached from the lounge.
What do the room rates include?
Full breakfast, tax, internet (Wi-Ffi). We do have a full covered insurance, even for the rental bikes. Always a welcome drink.
Do you offer any special packages?
Day, evening or overnight trips to choose. Lunch and / or dinner on board. Ideal as a meeting room. Private transfers with our luxurious van.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Full breakfast includes coffee, thee, fresh orange juice, all kind of eggs, bacon, cereals’, house made jam’s, cheeses and several fresh breads.
When and where is breakfast served?
Breakfast is available from 7:00 AM with coffee and cereals’, full breakfast from 8:00 AM on till 9:30 AM. This will be served in the restaurant or on deck, when the weather is fine.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
All dietary requests need to be reserved at least a day in advance.
Do you serve other meals?
Lunch and dinner are possible on demand, a welcome drink is always included.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
We do have a full professional kitchen that can’t be used by our client’s.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
Children are welcome. Any damage on furniture or antiques needs to be recovered directly. A children chair and cot are available.
Do you accept pets?
Pets are allowed to stay on board.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is only allowed outside on the sundeck.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
There is a public parking nearby. Cars can park before the Marjorie II loads and unloads luggage without blocking traffic.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
No elevator.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
Marjorie II is designed to cruise and has all qualifications, fire alarms, emergency buttons in the rooms, life jackets, etc.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
We are very flexible. In general is the check-in time is from 11:00 AM on and check-out is around 10:00 AM.
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
There is no minimum.

Best by phone or email.
What types of payment do you accept?
On the moment only wire transfers and cash on a direct booking.
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?
Dressing code is casual.

The Marjorie II is 500 meters away from the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Schelde quays. Museums such as the Rubens House, Plantin Moretus, Diamond and fashion museum. Shopping on the Meir and Keyserlei. Tours in port or on the Schelde river.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
Our b&b is more personal with exactly the same standards as the best hotels.
