Mecenate Rooms B&B occupies an apartment, placed in the heart of Rome, which was bought and restructured by us to make it a four-room stylish Bed & Breakfast in Rome. We have been running our B&B for one year and we are very pleased to make our client's stay in Rome very special. The name Mecenate is linked to the famous "patron of the arts", who supported artists and poets, and reflects the historical heritage of this area of Rome. Mecenate Rooms used to be a residential apartment before, and its home-like atmosphere makes our B&B very familiar and comfortable, as if you're athome.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Our entrance is an elegant living room, where we welcome our guests in a very friendly and familiar atmosphere. The neighbourhood is quiet, but also very central. All the rooms, designed and furnished with great care given to every detail, are bright and comfortable. According to the tradition connected with its name, Mecenate Rooms have furnished all the rooms with works by various contemporary artists, as Guendalina Salini, Alessandro Cicoria and Zazie Gnecchi Ruscone. Mecenate Rooms is just a stone's throw away from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, the political and social centre for the Ancient Romans, and its strategic position makes the accommodation extremely exclusive. The combination of seclusion and comfort creates a magic atmosphere that will make your stay unforgettable!
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The friendly atmosphere and the unique design of the furniture are the first thing that have impressed our guests. Each room has a different color and all the furniture has been chosen with care and attention to detail. The neighbourhood is quiet, but also very central, and all our guest have the keys for the room and the entrance so they are free to have a walk in the center of Rome also at night.

Our rooms, Orazio, Virgilio, Marziale and Giovenale, take their name from 4 artists, Mecenates's friends and members of his cultural circle. All our guests are given front door keys as well as the key to their room, so you will be able to go sightseeing whenever you want, even at night. We offer a daily cleaning service, clean bed linens and towels at the arrival, and new ones every 3 days. Extra Services - on request: airport transfer service; garage (50 mt); and if you have any other needs, please contact us, we shall do our best to help you!
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
We offer four double rooms: Marziale, Giovenale, Orazio and Virgilio. The last two can have 1 double bed or 2 single beds. Each room can sleep 2 persons, but Orazio can be also a triple room, taking one single bed from Virgilio. The maximum capacity of Me
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
Our four rooms are: Orazio: a wonderful suite, it is big and bright , equipped with great care and furnished with the best comforts, 2 lovely arm chairs and some incredible photos of Rome will make the atmosphere absolutely friendly. Virgilio: the other suite of Mecenate Rooms. It's very comfortable; there are some black and white photos of Rome that make the room absolutely unique. The wonderful coloured cushions and antique lamps show the great care in furnishing this room. Giovenale: is a very special room, its photos, lamps, bedside tables are lovely and the window with its steps make this room ideal for a romantic stay in Rome. Marziale: the smallest room of Mecenate Rooms but it is nice and comfortable as well. The main characteristic of the room is its yellow colour and the beautiful spherical big lamp. For your comfort all our rooms are equipped with: Satellite TV with LCD screen, ADSL internet access and Wi-Fi, Safe, Air-conditioning/heating, En-suite bathroom.
Which room is your personal favorite?
Each room is unique and different. My favourites are Giovenale and Orazio. Both big and bright, they have beautiful furniture and are really comfortable. Orazio is more romantic with its light blue color shades and the great pictures on the walls. Giovenale has a stronger character, with its red shades color and I love the stair under the high window in the bedroom.
What do the room rates include?
Included in the prices: Satellite TV with LCD screen, ADSL internet access and Wi-Fi, air conditioning/heating, safe, cosmetic bath products, hair dryer and breakfast. We offer a daily cleaning service, clean bed linens and towels at the arrival, and new ones every 3 days.
Do you offer any special packages?
We can make discounts for long stays or for large group bookings.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Breakfast includes a hot drink of your choice and a croissant each person.

Do you serve other meals?
No other meals are served.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
We don't offer cooking facilities at the moment.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
We accommodate children of any age. Under request we have a small bed for children within 4 years old that can be added in the room, or we have a room, Orazio, which can become a triple with a single bed added.
Do you accept pets?
We don't accept pets.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is forbidden at Mecenate Rooms. All the rooms are non-smoking.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
All the room are placed on the ground floor of the building, but there are two steps to enter the reception living room. The bathrooms are not adapted for wheelchair disabled.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
We don't have a 24 hours reception, so we need to know before the arrival time of our guests. Usually we prefer to make the check-in between 12.00am to 6.00pm, but we can suit to the guest's need. The check-out is strictly before 11.00 am, because we need to clean the room for new arrivals.
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
1 night at the most.
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
There is contact form on our website for booking and availability requests. The guest has to fill it entirely to request the availability of a room. The booking will be complete only after our confirmation e-mail. They can also contact us directly by writing us at this e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to complete your booking we ask your credit card details (name and surname, credit card number and expiration date). Mecenate Rooms will confirm all bookings via e-mail. All guests are kindly requested to produce a valid identity document on arrival.
What is you cancellation policy?
Cancellation policy: 7 days prior to your arrival date. In case of no-show or late cancellation we will charge the price of the first night as a penalty.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all kinds of credit cards, cash and also wire transfers. These last ones only if you make the payment at least 7 days before the arrival date.
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?
No special etiquette is required about dressing in our B&B. We only ask to respect our other guests being careful not to disturb them with too much noise, and to take care of the furniture of the rooms which are unique vintage design pieces.

Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
Mecenate Rooms is located in Via Mecenate 79, 00184, Rome. Mecenate Rooms is easy to reach from any direction by bus and underground. METRO B LINE: get off at Colosseo and walk through the Traiano Park to reach the B&B. METRO A LINE: get off at Vittorio Emanuele and walk in the direction of Via Merulana, cross the street and enter Via Mecenate, walking until number 79. From Termini Station take the 714 bus (Palazzo dello Sport direction) and get off at Merulana/Mecenate, enter Via Mecenate, walking until number 79.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
It's very familiar staying in our B&B, as if you are at home. You will have your privacy, because all the rooms have a private bathroom. All our guests are given front door keys as well as the key to their room, so you will be able to go sightseeing whenever you want, even at night.
