Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
Our bungalow was built just three years ago on a large plot with views overlooking Quillan and the hills beyond. We also have many years experience in the restaurant and hotel trade before this, in the UK and France. We enjoy having people to stay in our home and the opportunity it gives us to meet so many people from all walks of life and all countries in the world. It is like meeting new friends who then become old friends especially when they revisit us.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
The bungalow is sitting on a large plot of land of nearly 8,000 square metres, with over 80 olive tress, with magnificent views from the large terrace where both breakfast and evening meals are served in the warmer months with the swimming pool and lawned area for sun bathing and relaxing. All the rooms have doors leading directly into the garden. Guests have complete freedom to come and go as they please at any time of the day or night. We like our guests to feel at home in our home, they have their own TV in the room, tea and coffee making facilities. If they wish they can bring food back to eat on the terrace or cook on the barbecue. We supply the cutlery and crockery. There is just a small charge for the use of the gas barbecue.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The welcome they received, the sumptuous breakfast and gourmet evening meals, the warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with conversation flowing late into the night. Our attention to detail and our guests comfort, going that extra mile to make their stay memorable
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
All three bedrooms have French and English TV in the rooms, with tea and coffee making facilities. Each room has doors leading to the garden, their own private seating area and access to the large terrace, swimming pool and lawned sun bathing area next to the pool.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
Three double bedrooms, all en-suite with shower, washbasin and WC. We also have a family room, also en-suite with twin beds and bunk beds. Room can have bunk beds to added to accommodate a family. Total number of guests 10-12.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
All rooms are furnished as double bedrooms with a large bed for two people. However, on request these can be changed to twin beds or have additional beds for a family or another single person, or cots for a babies. We also have a large family room with twin beds and bunk beds. Children under 6 years old sharing their parents room are not charged.

What do the room rates include?
Breakfast is included, Wi-Fi, phone calls to land lines throughout the world free of charge, private secure parking, all taxes.
Do you offer any special packages?
We take each request individually and the price is agreed subject to guests requirements
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Croissants, Pain au chocolat, Bread, both multi-cereal and fresh white baguette, fruit juices, tea coffee, chocolate, ham, cheese, eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, prunes, cereals. Gluten free diets catered for as well as other dietary requirements.
When and where is breakfast served?
Guests decide at what time they wish to eat, hours are flexible. Breakfast can be taken in the living room or on the terrace in the warmer weather.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
All dietary requirements are catered for. Roy is a qualified chef with a life time of experience in France and the UK.
Do you serve other meals?
Packed lunches can be provided on request. Afternoon tea on the terrace, wine beers. Evening meals provided subject to prior reservation. Evening meal s consist of aperitif, starter, main course, cheese, dessert, all drinks (wine beer, water etc) and coffee to finish at a cost of 25 euros person.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
Space is available in the fridge if required. A gas barbecue is available for guests use with a small charge for the use of the gas. Additional tea and coffee available if required.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
All children are welcome. There are 2 cots and a high chair for guests use plus a selection of toys and books. We have a large garden where they can safely wander and play. The swimming pool is unattended so parents must responsibility for their children when using the pool. There is a pool alarm fitted.
Do you accept pets?
Yes, pets accepted.
What is your smoking policy?
No smoking in any of the rooms in the house, guests can smoke outside on the terrace, their own seating area and in the garden.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
Parking for several cars, private and secure to the side of the house.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
Suitable for guests with limited mobility, not suitable for wheelchairs.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
No alarms other than the pool alarm. Burglar alarm not necessary, nor fire alarm as all guests a a door to the outside in their room.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
Arrival during the afternoon, departure by midday, unless otherwise requested
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
No minimum, but higher charge for one night stay
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
Phone, email, online reservation inquiries. Discretionary deposit may be requested.
What is you cancellation policy?
No cancellation policy.
What types of payment do you accept?
Cash or Cheques drawn on a French Bank Account.
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?

Walking, white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, many historical sites and Cathar castles throughout the region. Spain and Andorra an hour and a half away, the Mediterranean one hour away. The World Heritage site of Carcassone one hour away. Cruising and boat trips on the Canal du Midi. 20 minutes away from Rennes le Chateau, made famous by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
We are situated on the main route D117 which runs from Perpignan nearly to the Atlantic coast along the Pyrenees. We are only 5 minutes walk to and from the centre of Quillan. Our bed and breakfast is well signposted if you travel along the D117 whichever direction you are coming from, we are only 150 metres of the main road.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
We like our guests to treat our B&B as home from home, with complete freedom to come and go as they please, using all the facilities on offer. We give a very personal service. Breakfast is usually taken together which helps to create a friendly relaxed atmosphere, but if they wish they may take breakfast on their own.
