What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
A 90 metre square lounge and dining room with a long beamed ceiling welcomes our guests to La Vieille Boulangerie. On arrival guests enjoy afternoon tea or a welcome drink to help them settle in. Being an old house the ambiance provides a relaxing location. Located in a small village we have over 1 1/2 acres of land that guests can enjoy. Being originally 2 cottages, when opened up to one house, 2 staircases wind their way up to the first floor going in different directions. All guest rooms have private facilities which is quite unusual for France as well as coffee & tea amenities. The original bread ovens are still in situation in the kitchen,although not in use at this time.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
The welcome and service they have received during their stay along with the variety of dinners they have enjoyed during their stay. La Vieille Boulangerie is not just a B&B, you get a lot more. Napkins and candlelight enhance the enjoyment of dinner and you can choose from 2, 3 or 4 courses, or go the extra mile and have a tailor made gastronomic dinner.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
La Vieille Boulangerie is graded by one of France's recognised accommodation agency and each of the rooms have their own grading. THe relaxing room and dining room that can seat 12 for dinner and breakfast. On the first floor guests can relaxing in the small library where they will find information, maps and guides of the area. Outside there is table and chairs and guests can use the lawned area to relax in or play games.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
In the main house we have 5 double guests rooms, made up of 3 double bedded rooms and 2 twin bedded rooms. The Red, Rose and Blue are double bedded rooms and the Green and Magnolia room provide twin bedded rooms.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
The Red room, located on the first floor has rich deep colours with a double bed and an en-suite shower room with vanity unit and toilet. It also boasts it's own granite fireplace, although not an operating one, as well as beams. A traditional Armoire wardrobe and bed head adds to the ambiance, along with the triple seat settee. The Red room faces the front of the house. The Green room ,located on the first floor with light and dark green colours is located next to the Red room, is a twin bedded room with sloping beamed ceiling and velux window and a traditional Armoire wardrobe. Directly opposite the Green room is the private and large shower room with a double shower, vanity unit & toilet, and window. The Green room faces the rear of the house. The Rose room located on the first floor has soft light colours and double bed with an en-suite shower room. In the shower room is an original granite fireplace, although not an operating one, a fitted shower, vanity unit and toilet. The rose room faces the front of the house and has a traditional Armoire wardrobe. The Blue Room is located on the first floor and has deep & light blue bedding and furnishings. The Blue room is the family and has a double sofa-bed in the room. When not in use it provides the large seating area along with reading lamp. The private shower room is located just outside of the door and has a fitted shower, vanity unit & toilet. The blue room faces the side of the house with view over the country and has a traditional Armoire wardrobe. The Magnolia room is located on the 2nd floor and provides a much larger and light room of cream brown and beige. The Magnolia room has it's own en-suite shower room with fitted shower, vanity unit and toilet. The Magnolia room has large open beamed ceiling with a silent fan and faces the front of the house. The room has a illuminated stone feature wall.

All rooms have central heating and tea & coffee amenities.
Which room is your personal favorite?
All of the rooms are our favourite as we have furnished them equally well for a restful stay.
What do the room rates include?
Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking in front and at the side of the house accommodates parking for 7 cars.
Do you offer any special packages?
Gastronomic stays are a specialty for the more discerning guest. A minimum of 4 guests can enjoy a tailor made and priced dinner. This is offered throughout the year. The garden area allows for marquees and weddings can be catered for.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Our traditional breakfast includes Cereals, Croissants, French Baguette, Ham, Cheese, Yoghurt, Preserves, Honey, Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate.
When and where is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served in the dining room and is at 8.30am Monday to Friday and 9am on Saturday & Sundays and bank holidays. Other times can be arranged with advance notice. It is possible to have breakfast outside if desired.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
All diets can be catered for with advance notice.
Do you serve other meals?
Generally Breakfast and dinner is served daily. Lunch and packed lunches can also be arranged. 24hrs notice is requested for dinner so we can purchase fresh produce and we offer 2, 3 or 4 courses from a set menu of the day with dietary considerations. We have a license for the sale of beer, wine and cider.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
Only in the Gite which is sold ona weekly basis. Long and short stays can be arranged. The gite has its own private lounge, Fully equipped kitchen, shower room with fitted shower, toilet & vanity unit. ON the first floor a double and twin bedded room are provided. the twin room could take up to 2 extra beds if required. There is also a toilet on the first floor.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
Yes, however we do provide cots for babies.

What is your smoking policy?
The main house and Gite are totally non smoking. Smoking is possible outside.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
Yes, there is parking for 7 cars.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
No, as all bedrooms are upstairs and we do not have a lift or ramps.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
Smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
For check in normally after 2pm and check out by 11am. Other times can be arranged with advance notice.
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
No minimum stay.
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
Reservations can be made by email or phone. 50% non refundable deposit is required.
What is you cancellation policy?
If the room is resold the deposit will be refunded.
What types of payment do you accept?
Cheques drawn on a French bank account or Euro's. We do accept payment in advance via Pay Pal, although there is a 5% administration charge.
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?
No special conditions, although all guests should be respectful of each other.

Langourla is ideally located in the centre of Cotes D'Armor making it the perfect location to explore the area, by car, bicycle or walking. Walking and cycling routes can be provided Horse riding & golf are also available in the area. The sandy beaches in the north are only 40 minutes away and the Pink Granite Coast provides the ideal days outing. The south coast of Vannes and Lorient are in easy reach of approx 1 1/2 hours and again provides a good days drive and outing. A lot of medieval towns and cities surround Langourla with many only 40 minutes away. Throughout the year there are many festivities including Medieval celebrations and Langourla has a fantastic festival for Bastille day with dinner in the open air Theatre and fireworks around the lake.Llangourla also has its annual 3 day jazz festival every August. Leisure parks and water parks are also close by as well as daily markets in different towns around the area.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
La Vieille Boulangerie is located in rural Brittany. It is advisable to have transport by car or bicycle. Langourla can be easily reached from the ferry ports of St Malo, Caen, Cherbourg & Roscoff. If you are flying into the area, both Dinard and Rennes airports are only 50 minutes away and both have hire car facilities. The nearest train station is only 15 minutes away. Airport and train collection can be arranged, however for exploring the area, you really need a car or bicycle.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
Staying at La Vieille Boulangerie is more like staying in a hotel. It is not like a seaside bed & breakfast, but instead a boutique and relaxing experience. All of our bedrooms have private facilities so it is home from home. For Breakfast and dinner we serve our guests in our elegant dining room and normally all of guests eat together, although depending on preferred timings for dinner. La Vieille Boulangerie is an experience not to be missed.
