Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
After running for 24 years a shooting stand for clay-pigeons on our farm, we decided to start a Bed and Breakfast.
Two years after starting the works, we launched our B&B in 2006.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
The B&B is situated on a beautifully renovated farm. We have now cows our pigs. We have some horses (Arabien Freis) and a lot of ducks, swans and other small farmyard animals. Our farm is exceptionally peaceful and quiet - no cars, no people, and in the morning you can listen to the birds.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
All our guests liked the beautiful BIG farm, the warm welcome of the hosts, and the delicious breakfast prepared by the hostess. Guests have complete freedom to come and go.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
The original structures of our farm are very old. In 1997-98, we renovated the buildings. A driveway and a 1500-square-meter parking lot have been built. Our B&B is completely rebuilt and has 4 rooms - 1 double and 3 twin rooms.Baby beds are of course available.

We have 4 rooms with maximum capacity of our B&B is 10 guests.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
Room 1 (double) and Room 2 (twin) may accommodate up to 2 guests each. Room 3 (twin) and Room 4 (twin) may accommodate up to 3 guests.
Please describe the in-room facilities for each type of room in your B&B.
All rooms are spacious and have en-suite bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet, fridge, cable TV, microwave, etc. Each room has a separate door to a private terrace, with chairs and a possibility for a BBQ.
Which room is your personal favorite?
Room 1 but the other three rooms have certainly not done.

What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
We are not a hotel or a restaurant, we offer bed and breakfast in a family-run farm.
When and where is breakfast served?
There is no specific time for breakfast.
Do you serve other meals?
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
No, but there are barbecue facilities outside.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?

What is your smoking policy?
There is a general prohibition on smoking inside the B&B. Guests may smoke outside at the terrace and the garden.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
We have a big farm with a big parking!
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
All rooms are on the ground floor but are not accessible for wheelchair users.
What safety precautions are provided at your B&B?
Fire prevention, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors or fire alarms are standard.
What is your check-in/check-out policy?
No strict time for checking in our out.
Are there a minimum number of nights for staying at your B&B?
No minimum number of nights required.
How can guests check availability and make a reservation?
Information via Internet, email our GSM with confirmation via an e-mail or SMS.
What is you cancellation policy?
There is always something between appointments. No cost.
What types of payment do you accept?
Cash or wire transfers.
Is there a special etiquette that guests should know about and comply with?
Please tell us what things guests might enjoy visiting, seeing, doing, etc. in your area.
In the region there are several hiking trails, bike routes. At only 500 meters there are several very good restaurants and we are near Gistel Ichtegem, close to the Belgian coast or Flemish Venice, Bruges. Theme parks like Plopsaland are not far away.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
Easy, take exit 5 Gistel on the E40 and take direction Torhout (N33). At just 5 km (Moerdijk Eernegem) you will find our small sign "Blauwkasteelhof" on your left
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
I would simply say: "Enjoy it"
