What is(are) your name(s)?
For how long have you been running a B&B?
Literally just opened a couple of weeks ago
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
Chateau Sardac has been neglected for the past 10 years so when we bought it we wanted to bring the property back it original splendour although still being a small country estate. It took us a year to renovate the main house and convert the 1st floor so that each bedroom has its own bathroom facility. Now guests can come enjoy their stay in our home. For my husband and I, having lived in many countries for over 20 years, it is still a lovely way to meet people from all walks of life.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Having spent 15 years in Asia, we brought back all our homely goods and souvenirs from there, items and furniture we had accumulated over time and stuff we found to compliment our new home in France. So the obvious style we have is oriental with a colonial touch throughout the main house, from the public areas to the 5 bedrooms, which bear the old name of a place we have lived in or visited. We wanted to create a desire to travel faraway and allow guests to find calm away from hectic life.
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
We have received lovely comments so far, from comfortable beds, gorgeous and homely decor so much so they would like to stay longer or come back again, nice grounds with the dovecote and the huge pool, scrumpious food and warm hosts. Guests have said they really feel the zen atmosphere everywhere they go.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
Guests are greeted from the Asian style courtyard into a lobby, which leads to a big lounge, a cosy library and a dining room. At the top of the grand staircase, there is a boudoir before getting to the respective bedrooms. On the south facing side of the house, we have a terrace with a large pool, a dovecote converted to get away from the sun and access to a pool bathroom. And lastly, the 3-hectare grounds for little strolls or sit in the zen courtyard.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
We have 5 double bedrooms available, one of which is in the tower on the 2nd floor and its bathroom on the 1st floor, and another with a separate lounge.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
All our bedrooms have been converted to include a bathroom with modern facilities.
1) The Dakao room gives the impression of staying amidst the tea and coffee plantations of central Vietnam.
2) The Siam room with its warm blue shade and large shower invites guests to a romantic stay.
3) The Peking room is the smallest of all though not compromising on the grandeur atmosphere of what we think would have been in the Chinese emperors' era.
4) The Melaka room in the tower is special. Accessible by a private staircase (where its private bathroom is also found), the bedroom will take you back in the colonial time.
5) The Kyoto room bears its name from the geishas walking around the old cobbled lanes of the known area of Gion.
All except for the Dakao room have views over the dovecote and the garden.
Please describe the in-room facilities for each type of room in your B&B.
The bathrooms in each bedroom are new with a modern shower, toilet and sink area. The bedrooms have central heating in winter and cosy quilts. For a relaxing stay, we opted for no TVs in the bedrooms although there is one in the lounge. Instead there are cozy armchairs in each bedroom. The tea & coffee making facilities are in the dining room where guests can also help themselves to home baked cookies. Hairdryer, iron and other small housekeeping items can be used upon request.
Which room is your personal favorite?
Each bedroom is unique so there is no favorite one, we love them all.
What do the room rates include?
The rates quoted include continental breakfast. Wifi is free and there is private parking on the grounds.
Do you offer any special packages?
We have specials available all year around, take a look at our website. For example, half board in the Siam or Melaka room.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
A continental breakfast is served and will change daily. Typically we will serve fruit juices, freshly baked pastries such as muffins, croissants and breakfast bread loaves served with home made jams. Cold cuts of meat and cheese are also offered as well as home made yoghurt and a platter of fresh fruits. And of course, brewed coffee and a choice of tea.
When and where is breakfast served?

Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
There is no cooking/kitchen facilities for guests. However, tea & coffee is complimentary in the dining room.
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?

Please tell us what things guests might enjoy visiting, seeing, doing, etc. in your area.
There is so much to see and do around our wonderful region. First of all, being on the cycling route of the Garonne, it is a nice way to discover the small villages from Toulouse down to nearby Luchon. By car, guests can get to Carcassonne or Lourdes in 1.5 hours. Toulouse can be reached within 45 mins by car or train. Andorra and Spain are easy to travel to. For skiers, Luchon is the nearest resort. But naturally, exploring closer to our home, guests can discover quainter places like Rieux-Volvestre, Carbonne, Aurignac.
Soon an equestrian centre and water sports will open in our village.
Where is your B&B located and how it may be reached?
Our B&B is 5 mins away from the A64 motorway (exit 25), 40kms south of Toulouse or Blagnac Airport, or 30 mins north of Saint-Gaudens. Directions and a bilingual map are provided on our website.
What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
Our B&B stays after all our private home. We welcome guests just like family and those wishing to find peace and quiet, but over dinner or during their stay, we enjoy chatting with each one to ensure everyone is comfortable and relaxed.
Is there something more that you want to share about your property?
Our B&B is a getaway from the city, stressful and busy lifestyles, and the routine. Being in the countryside in the middle of fields, this is where we enjoy living and we hope to share a bit of this tranquility with guests.
