What is(are) your name(s)?
For how long have you been running a B&B?
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
We built our home 5 years ago with the intention of offering bed and breakfast accommodation. We had stayed in bed and breakfast accommodation in Europe and enjoyed the opportunity to meet the locals and felt we would enjoy to do sometihing similar here.
We chose our site for its convenience, close to town yet quiet and semi-rural, with easy access to main routes in and out of the area. Our property, which is 1 hectare in size, is located in a quiet cul de sac only 2 kilometres from the centre of Taupo, which has a great range of restaurants and facilities. We have beautified our property with a small vineyard and landscaped gardens, and provided indoor and outdoor relaxation areas.
Taupo is a wonderful base from which to discover the Central North Island. There are so many activities and sightseeing opportunities in the region.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Our B&B has 3 en suited rooms, one of which is a studio unit. All rooms are at ground level with independent access and have views over our vineyard. Our property is unique in our area in that it has its own vineyard and is close to the walking and cycle trails of the Wairakei Tourist Park.

What would you say to people who have never stayed in a bed and breakfast?
The good side of staying in a B&B is that you are in a home away from home, with some facilities available to you that you will not find in other accommodation. Hospitality and helpful advice are some of these attributes.
Your hosts will do their best to make you feel at ease and to discover your interests and requirements.
You are just requested to respect the privacy of the hosts in the private areas of the home.
