What is(are) your name(s)?
David & Jill Drummie
For how long have you been running a B&B?
Please share something about the history of your present bed and breakfast.
In 2003 we bought a 3 storey ruin. It had not been lived in for many years, and was on the point of collapse. We spent 2 years (and a small fortune) having it renovated by local artisans. Everybody who stays here comments on the quality of the workmanship and finish of the place.
What are the unique characteristics of your B&B?
Based on your guests' opinions, what feature of your B&B has made their stay special?
Everyone just loves our roof terrace. Jill keeps it looking beautiful all year round. It's just perfect to relax with a cold beer and read yopu book.
Please describe in short your bed and breakfast and its general services and amenities.
How many rooms are offered at your B&B and what is its maximum capacity?
There are five guest bedrooms, three doubles and two twins, all with en-suite bathrooms. Two of the rooms have private terraces and one is wheelchair friendly. Our maximum capacity is 10 guests.
What kinds of rooms do you offer?
All of our rooms are of the highest standard. Please see our Trip Advisor page for what our guests say.
Which room is your personal favorite?
Evryone who stays here seems to love the room they are in. Personally, I prefer room 5 on the top floor. It has a large private balcony, which is shaded from the sun after midday. Jill (and our son) prefer room 3 on the top floor. This one has a small private terrace, which is a sun trap in the afternoon. My sister and our most frequent guest, Anne - both of whom have been here about 9 or 10 times - prefer room 4 on the top floor. This room does not have a private balcony , but has a bathroom with a bath and a large separate shower. Take your pick.
What do the room rates include?
Our prices include bed & breakfast and tax. We have wi-fi internet access throughout the house.
Do you offer any special packages?
Small, private parties can be catered for. It is not uncommon for young people from the village to get married in the church opposite, and spend their wedding night here.
What may guests expect from a typical breakfast at your property?
Breakfast at Los Arcos usually consists of fresh fruit salad, choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh bread, jam, marmalade, fruit juice, coffee and a choice of teas. Guests from some countries - Holland and Germany mainly - like a choice of cheeses and hams.
When and where is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served in the dining room at a time to suit the guest. Some people like an early start, whereas others prefer to ease themselves into the day.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
As long as Jill knows in advance she can cater for any dietary need (except nut allergies as we cannot guarantee bought-in ingredients are nut free). We are quite used to vegetarians and coeliacs eating here.
Do you serve other meals?
Evening meals can be provided as long as we have a few days' notice.
Are there cooking facilities, which guests may use?
Is your bed and breakfast suitable for children?
Children are more than welcome.
Do you accept pets?
What is your smoking policy?
No smoking in the house. Guests may smoke on the private terraces, or on the roof terrace.
Is there a parking facility on premises or nearby?
We are on the Church Square, so there is ample free parking.
Is your B&B suitable for disabled guests?
We have one room on the ground floor which is wheelchair-accessible. Having said that, this area is not ideal for wheelchairs, as we are in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
